Safety & Contraindications
(EBOO + Ozone Therapy)

Important: EBOO and ozone-based therapies are provided as wellness/supportive services and are not a substitute for emergency care or primary medical treatment. If you have urgent symptoms (chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe shortness of breath), call emergency services.
Who should NOT do systemic ozone therapy (absolute contraindication)

G6PD deficiency (Favism) / risk of acute hemolytic anemia
Who may need extra caution or medical clearance (relative contraindications)
Depending on modality and clinical context, systemic ozone therapies may require caution in patients with:

Pregnancy, especially the first trimester
-
Uncontrolled hyperthyroidism (e.g., Graves / Basedow)
-
Thrombocytopenia or significant coagulation disorders
-
Recent myocardial infarction or significant cardiovascular instability
-
Acute alcohol intoxication
How we screen for safety
Before EBOO or systemic ozone therapies, we review:

Medical history, medications, and prior reactions
-
Vitals and baseline risk factors
-
When appropriate, labs (commonly including G6PD status)
Common short-term effects some people report
These can vary by person and modality:

Temporary fatigue or “tired but calm” feeling after treatment

Mild lightheadedness (especially if under-hydrated)
-
Local IV-site tenderness or bruising (for IV-based modalities)
When to contact us urgently
Contact us (or seek urgent care) if you develop:

Severe shortness of breath, chest pain, fainting that doesn’t resolve
-
Severe or worsening swelling/redness at an IV site
-
Any symptom that feels severe or “not normal for you”
